BERGERSKUNDA
Bergerskunda, located in the Toubacouta region in southern Senegal, is a static shelter designed to meet a specific territorial need: providing safe rest for nomadic herders and protection for their livestock during transhumance routes. In this area, sleeping outdoors is dangerous due to wild animals, turning rest into a risk. The project stems from field observation and draws on sustainable techniques and local materials, integrating respectfully into the landscape.
Rather than imposing a form, Bergerskunda adapts to the rhythms of the territory, responding to contingency, mobility, and the cultural and environmental dynamics of the region.
