BLUST. Charging Unit
BLUST is a medical device made of a Transport Unit and a Charging Unit. It is designed to transport blood samples in remote regions of Africa, mainly in Sudan, Niger, the D.R. Congo, and the Central African Republic. Blood samples must travel hundreds of kilometers through wild terrain under extreme conditions, maintaining a temperature between 2°C and 8°C. Frequent lack of stable electricity impedes the generation of cold, causing the samples to become unusable.
BLUST's Charging Unit harnesses solar energy through modular photovoltaic panels and refrigerates using thermoelectricity, a compact and low-consumption technology. This system provides 15 hours of cold from just 90 minutes of sun.
