Lyra
Lyra is a smart neonatal cry-monitoring system designed for home environments. Using real-time audio analysis, it interprets infant crying patterns to identify potential needs such as hunger, discomfort, pain, or sleep, providing caregivers with clear and actionable insights.
Integrated into an interactive crib mobile, Lyra delivers an adaptive and personalized sensory response through light, sound, and movement stimuli tailored to the baby’s needs. The project demonstrates how design engineering can enhance infant care, improving well-being, parental reassurance, and caregiver–baby interaction.
