Myō: La contemporanización de amuletos tradicionales japoneses

This project explores the symbolic and spiritual significance of Japanese amulets, examining their meaning, protective function, and cultural relevance. It also investigates the psychology of superstition and the human tendency to attribute value and intention to objects. Based on this research, the project reinterprets traditional amulets as contemporary jewelry, creating a modern aesthetic while preserving their essence.

By combining culture, design, and materiality, the proposal develops jewelry pieces that carry meaning beyond ornamentation. These objects become expressions of identity, memory, and belief, connecting with people who seek to wear pieces with significance and intention.
