Phygital Bone 3.0: Development of a generative algoritm to generate trabecular tissue.
The Phygital Bone 3.0 project explores the digitalization and 3D printing of synthetic bone structures. This research develops a biomimetic microarchitecture of bone tissue using an algorithm, enhancing structural accuracy for prosthetics and and is a pioneer for medical training, bioengineering, and forensic science applications.
The team’s algorithm-aided design (AAD) focuses on creating a generative and parametric trabecular region with controllable porosity and density. It ensures a smooth transition from the trabecular to the cortical region. The parametric algorithm dynamically adapts variables based on input data, ensuring adaptability in biomedical uses.
