Qi Chair
Qi Chair is a furniture design proposal that explores how everyday household objects can become cultural and emotional bridges in migration contexts. Inspired by the aesthetics and rituals of “sitting” in Chinese culture, it offers a sense of cultural comfort for people in multicultural environments. The chair combines formal and symbolic elements of traditional Chinese furniture with a contemporary and ergonomic design language. Through the study of materials, forms, and gestures, it aims to provide physical comfort, emotional well-being, and identity continuity during intercultural adaptation, responding to the need for belonging in an increasingly mobile world.
