The Voids at the MET
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, reflecting over a century of American architecture, appears outdated in a rapidly changing society. Research shows the MET mainly looks to attract retired, white individuals. To better represent New York City's diverse community, institutions must evolve. My project aims to make the MET more contemporary and welcoming. I designed "Voids" throughout the museum, providing visitors with breaks from information, an appreciation of the building, and natural light, to attract non-traditional visitors.
